I believe this project came to me summer after 8th grade for a reason I truly do not rememeber. I guess I had been making a lot of money from mowing lawns and I thought that I needed a decent place to blow it.

The basic idea behind 'Waterworld' as my dad came to name it was to take a working log flume ride and miniaturize it onto a table similar to that of a train set. I began working with 3 inch diameter PVC and cut long sections in half including the elbows and other turns. I put in on the table and made a base height change using some 1x3s and covered it with think plywood and masonite.

I made a cool little hill out of a couple of elbows and bought a battery powered tank with treads. I drilled a couple slots in the base in top so that the tank treads could run up the hill and pull a boat up to the top. I also got a couple submarine motors that I placed under the hill that pushed the water constantly around the whole track. This worked pretty well considering they were only running on 1 AA battery each.
I added a little pool section out of thick plastic that would serve as the pool area of the ride. I had planned on decorating the whole thing like a miniature safari ride, but lack of funding and the end of the summer made me call the project off. I ended up trashing most of it, but chopped up the wood with and axe and used in over the winter to make some good fires in the house. It was sad seeing Waterworld leave, but I have recently gotten over the tragedy.
